In addition to being the season of mud and daffodils, it's also a time when many newly elected or appointed local officials are learning the ropes. Happy Town Meeting month! Most of our towns will hold their town meetings on Tuesday, March 12. We are wishing you all snow free, sunny meetings with plenty of debate, discussion, and voting on the many issues that will be on your warrants, from A(ppropriations) to Z(oning amendments)! 

Municipal Aid and the State Budget

As the state legislature begins debating its biennium budget for fiscal years 2023 and 2024 (HB 1) and the budget "trailer bill" (HB 2), towns and cities are preparing their budgets and waiting for anticipated revenue sharing and state aid in amounts yet unknown.
