The town of Lyme, NH, seeks sealed bids for the turnkey installation and sale of a heat pump system for Lyme’s Converse Library, located at 38 Union Street in Lyme, NH. The primary objective is to provide cooling and supplementary heating for the two-story library building (the lower level is partially below grade).
We estimate there are ~3,886 square feet of space. The main level of the building consists of one contiguous space featuring a work area, small reading space and variety of stacks, plus a separate Reading Room (~350SF) and Librarian’s Office (~240SF). The lower level is divided into a variety of rooms, bathroom, archival rooms, storage and a boiler room. The building is currently heated by oil, and that existing system can continue to be used as necessary to provide supplementary heat during the coldest months. The Town recently installed a grid-tied, 20 kW (AC) PV system at the library.
Installation is desired immediately. The Town has donor funding committed for this project; hence, this project will NOT need to go before Lyme voters. We expect the successful proposer to work with the Town on administrative matters, such as applying for any state or federal rebates. We expect the installation to meet all fire and safety code regulations.
