The Town of Pelham is seeking applicants for a part-time Health Officer. Applications are requested by April 4, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.
Rate of pay: $30.00 per hour
Hours of work: Varies; generally, 2-5 hours per week
Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
- Knowledge and understanding of Town Ordinances, state and federal health laws
- Must be reliable, dependable
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment and discretion
- Ability to identify and maintain confidential information
- Strong interpersonal skills and general office skills – including generation of descriptive documentation for maintaining logs and completing reports
- 3 – 5 years of work experience in a health-related filed with experience in health education strongly preferred
The Health Officer will deal with citizens’ concerns/inquiries, inspect a variety of public businesses, schools, private homes, environmental hazards/communicable diseases while effectively addressing issues and the needs of the community. The Health Officer reports to the Board of Selectmen and the Town Administrator.
The Town of Pelham has a population of approximately 14,000 residents. The Town has about 600 businesses where approximately 60% are home occupation businesses.
