Support Services Clerk Assigned to the Prosecution Unit

Full-time, Support Services Clerk Assigned to the Prosecution Unit: 37.5 hours per week, 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.
FLSA: Non-Exempt
AFFILIATION: Salem Administrative and Technical Employees (SEA), Grade 4

ABOUT THE ROLE: The Town of Salem, NH seeks a full time, 37.5 hours/week, 7 a.m.- 3:30 p.m., Monday - Friday, Support Services Clerk Assigned to the Prosecution Unit to perform clerical work within the Records, Prosecution, and the Investigative Services Units in support of the administrative functions of the police agency.  This position will primarily serve as a member of the Prosecution Unit.

ACCOUNTABILITY: Reports directly to the Operations Support Bureau Commander (Captain) and is accountable to the Chief of Police.

AA degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred. A strong proficiency in the use of computer-based applications including word, power point, advanced excel, access, file and records management and related office management functions.
Knowledge of basic criminal procedure for both law enforcement and court proceedings.
Self-motivated and proactive in resolving issues while working independently.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
Excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills.

Prepare and maintain accurate lists for court and other hearings.
Assist the prosecutors with collecting, disseminating, and documenting discovery requests.
Assist in identifying and tagging Body Worn Camera (BWC) and In-Car Video (ICV) for trial, hearings, and discovery.
Make requests for, tracks, and properly disseminates, in-house department footage/surveillance for trial, hearings, and discovery.
Responsible for the appropriate filing and status updating of all active cases assigned to the Prosecution Unit.
Responsible for entering accurate final dispositions for all cases assigned to the Prosecution Unit.
Maintain confidentiality and security of department information and records. Strictly adheres to CJIS requirements.
