Police Lieutenant

 

The Chester Police Department is seeking motivated, hardworking applicants of exceptional character to join our team as a full-time Lieutenant.  Our new team member shall possess an Associate degree, Bachelor's degree preferred, in criminal justice or related field, valid driver’s license, and excellent communication and writing skills. Our new team member should possess 10 years of full-time law enforcement experience with 5 years at the rank of Sergeant or higher. Must have the ability to meet current requirements set forth by the Police Standards and Training Council for the State of NH (NHPSTC). Preference will be afforded to those candidates already certified by NHPSTC or whose out-of-state police certification would be recognized by NHPSTC.  Our Applicants may be required to pass a written exam, physical agility test, oral board interviews, psychological testing, extensive background investigation, and medical examination. Current base pay ranges from $80K to $95K depending upon experience / qualifications. Both internal and external applicants will be considered for the position.  Review of applicants will be continuous, and the process will remain open until a suitable team member is found.

A hiring bonus of up to $5,000 will be dependent on prior training, education, experience, and certifications.
