Land Use/Code Enforcement Officer (Part-time)

The Town of Lincoln seeks a part-time Land Use Compliance Officer. Responsibilities include conducting compliance inspections, working with the Town Planner on permitting, checking setbacks, and participating in land use, zoning, and environmental laws and codes. Applicants should be comfortable with issuing letters of compliance and have a compliance process for unpermitted structures, junk yards, and unpermitted signs.

The candidate will be knowledgeable in the construction environment and proficient in current building practices. Familiarity with planning and zoning principles, wetlands, stormwater, other environmental issues, and other applicable land use matters is preferred. The candidate shall be able to collaborate effectively with local engineers, contractors, and citizens.

Preferred minimal qualifications are a high school diploma or GED, and two years of progressively responsible experience in a related field (engineering, construction management, etc.) or broad supervision of all aspects of construction.

The potential for additional duties and responsibilities is based on an individual’s skills and experience. The position is up to 20 hours part-time with a flexible schedule.
