Land Use Technician

The Town of Tilton seeks a qualified individual to perform responsible administrative, technical, and customer service functions requiring the exercise of judgment, the ability to interpret guidelines and to carry out assignments independently. The Land Use Technician duties include filing, data entry, processing cash receipts, preparing abutter notifications, processing building permits, and deeds, maintaining land use tracking files and reviewing Planning and Zoning Applications for completeness.

The Land Use Technician works under the general direction of the Land Use Coordinator performing a variety of responsible duties of a technical and administrative nature requiring the exercise of judgment, the ability to interpret guidelines and to carry out assignments independently. 

The primary responsibilities will be to assist the Land Use Coordinator, the Building Code Inspector and the Zoning Code Enforcement Officer with: data entry, filing, processing permits, prepare abutter notifications,  deeds, and customer service.

Potential for additional duties and responsibilities is based on an individual’s skills and experience. The position can be full or part-time with a flexible schedule.  High school diploma or GED, and two years of progressively responsible clerical or administrative experience, or any combination of education, training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.
