Land Use Technician

The Town of Lincoln seeks a qualified individual to perform responsible administrative, technical, and customer service functions requiring the exercise of judgment, the ability to interpret guidelines, and to carry out assignments independently. The Land Use Technician's duties include processing building permit applications, maintaining land use tracking files, reviewing Planning and Zoning Applications for completeness, filing, data entry, and processing cash receipts.

The Land Use Technician works under the general direction of the Town Manager, performing various responsible technical and administrative duties requiring the exercise of judgment, the ability to interpret guidelines, and to carry out assignments independently. The ability to read building and site plans is a plus!

The primary responsibilities will be to assist the Planner and the Zoning Code Enforcement Officer with processing building permit applications, maintaining land use tracking files, and reviewing Planning and Zoning Applications for completeness.

The potential for additional duties and responsibilities is based on an individual’s skills and experience. High school diploma or GED, and two years of progressively responsible clerical or administrative experience, or any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the job.

This is a year-round full-time position approximating 40 hours per week. The Town of Lincoln offers a generous benefits package including health, dental, life, disability, and retirement.
