DEPARTMENT: General Services Department - Highways & Utilities Division PAY: $49,920.00 - $67,121.60 Annually TYPICAL WORK SHIFT/SCHEDULE: Days, Monday - Friday, Overtime is a requirement. A savings account, used in conjunction with a High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), allowing an employee to set aside a predetermined amount of money on a pre-tax basis to cover out-of-pocket qualified medical expenses. Dental Insurance Plan One plan is available through Delta Dental: Provides full coverage on certain diagnostic and preventive services, and limited coverage on certain restorative, prosthodontic (bridges, crowns, etc.), surgical, endodontic, periodontic, orthodontic coverage, and emergency services. Vision Insurance Plan One plan is available through Delta Vision: Provides coverage on a wide range of services (routine eye exams, glasses, contact fittings, evaluations and lenses) and offers additional savings on non-prescription sunglasses and laser vision correction. This plan is voluntary and is available through a post-tax payroll deduction. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (All responsibilities may not be performed by all incumbents.) Coordinates the activities of a work crew in the absence of supervisor; enters employee work information into database in the absence of supervisor. Verifies sites through Dig-Safe program in the absence of Foreman. Operates complex and heavy equipment such as back-hoes, excavators, and compactors. Inspects equipment and vehicles before use; completes load slips to record weight of loads, time of trip, and mileage. Operates special heavy equipment such as road grader for excavating desired elevations and contouring road. Operates trucks and equipment for winter snow removal and other seasonal clean-up operations on an emergency and seasonal basis. Operates lawn tractors and other equipment in order to mow and edge grass, trim trees and shrubbery, chip wood, and plant seed and fertilizer. Performs minor routine maintenance and field adjustments on equipment such as checking oil and fluid levels, checking tire pressure, and checking belts. Performs other related duties as assigned. |
