DEPUTY CHIEF
The Town of Pelham Fire Department is seeking to hire a Deputy Chief. This is an individual contract position with operational and administrative responsibilities.
Duties: The Deputy Chief, in conjunction with the Fire Chief, provides administrative direction and leadership for all Fire Department functions including operations, personnel management, and supervision. In the Fire Chief’s absence, the Deputy Chief is in command of the department and emergency scenes. The Deputy is responsible for many project areas in the department as well as all other duties and functions assigned by the Fire Chief.
General Requirements: Applicants must have 7 years of supervisory experience and 15 years of fire service-related experience. Applicants must have good skills in communications, computer operations, labor relations, and proficiency in developing policy in a public safety agency. Must possess strong information technology and computer skills. Applicants must have a valid motor vehicle operators license. All applicants must have a State of New Hampshire or Pro Board certification as a Firefighter II (minimum), Fire Officer II, Fire Inspector I, and must be a Nationally registered EMT Basic (Advanced EMT or Paramedic preferred). Must have or be able to obtain CPAT or be eligible for lateral transfer (NH Rule Fire 703.01). Possession of a Fire Science or Fire Protection Degree is highly desirable. Applicants must live within 20 miles, from the town border to town border.
Compensation: Salary Range from $93,600 to $106,704 depending on qualifications and experience. Very competitive benefits package.
Work Schedule: This is a professional position with the expectation of a 40-hour work week. Schedule may be altered to meet the needs of the department.
