Building Maintenance and Wastewater Technician

The Town of Littleton New Hampshire is in search for a Building Maintenance and Wastewater Technician for the Public Works Department. This position is a union position that is a full-time, benefited opportunity including medical and dental insurance, paid Life and Disability insurance and New Hampshire Retirement.

This position will perform skilled and managerial duties within the public works functions of building maintenance of town owned buildings along with implementation of the town’s sewer use ordinance and also providing general support for the department. This position will report to the Public Works Director.   

This position will perform varied duties that include a routine to those of a complex nature following acceptable standards of quality and performance, requiring a moderate measure of responsibility and judgment in determining methods of completion and carrying out assignments independently.  

Building maintenance responsibility is broad and consists of: 

     1) major and minor repairs of commercial and residential buildings using appropriate

         skills and management.

     2) ongoing property management and maintenance duties and

     3) handling project management of large and small building improvement projects. 

This position will require strong interpersonal skills through having to work closely with town departments, contractors and vendors in completing building maintenance duties.  These same interpersonal skills will be needed for the duties with the town’s sewer use ordinance.  

This position will assist the Public Works Director in new building sewer connections together with managing the industrial pretreatment program contained in the town’s sewer use ordinance.  

This will require regular interactions with property owners, business owners, consultants and contractors. 

This position will assist the Public Works Director with sewer inspections and construction related inspections. 

Salary Range: $25.09 to $28.17/ hour depending on experience and background.
