Assessor I

The City of Rochester, NH is accepting applications for a full-time Assessor I to perform responsible and varied high-level administrative tasks and field work in a confidential

environment in support of the assessing activities of the department. The majority of work is performed independently, in accordance with standard practices, state and local statutes, regulations, guidelines and previous training. Work requires a high degree of judgmental reasoning to perform appraisals of real property. Generally, establishes own daily work plan and prioritizes and organizes, in order to complete work assignments.

Special Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • special training or a minimum of two years of experience in appraisal and assessment practices desired or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
  • DRA Certified Building Measurer and Lister designation or the ability to acquire designation within one year required 

RMEA grade 7; Hourly pay range $23.84 to $32.13 dependent upon qualifications and experience with competitive benefits. Pre-employment testing will include criminal, driving record, medical & drug screen.
