Administrative Assistant/Parks and Rec

The City of Keene is seeking an organized and personable professional to join the Parks and Recreation Department team as the Administrative Assistant I!  This position serves as the primary office representative of the Parks and Recreation Department and embodies the City’s brand mission and values in all interactions with our diverse community.  

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Supports community outreach and communication related to ongoing and upcoming recreational and partnership programs, including special events, field trips, youth sports, and adult/senior activities. 

• Prepares weekly payroll, oversees revenue collection for recreation and cemetery services, and generates financial statements, receipts and invoices. 

• Oversees the completion of paperwork requirements for the seasonal hiring process within the department including positions such as lifeguards, summer youth program participants, volunteers and coaches.

• Prepares committee paperwork within municipal guidelines including public notice postings, packet compilations, publishing meeting minutes, and budgetary updates.

• Manages administrative tasks related to municipal cemeteries and burial services.  Maintains and updates the cemetery website to enhance user-friendly functionality, prepares deeds for the City Clerk and maintains cemetery records, conducts record research for staff, funeral homes, and the public, and coordinates burials arrangements with staff, families, and funeral homes. 

• Utilizes City-approved platforms to enhance program, facility, and maintenance scheduling as well as record keeping and documentation.

Requirements include:

• Associate’s Degree in office management or related field plus 1-3 years of administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of both education and experience.

• Notary Public Certification (or the ability to obtain) is required.

• The ability to maintain confidentiality is a must! 

 

Pay and Benefits include:

• This position offers a pay range of $22.96- $28.61 per hour.
