The Town of Meredith is currently seeking a full-time Water Treatment Operator. Meredith operates its own water treatment plant for drinking water and participates in the Winnipesaukee River Basin Program for its wastewater.
The Operator performs work in the operation of the water treatment plant, wastewater collection system, and facilities. The Operator also inspects, maintains, and repairs plant equipment, performs manual labor and semi-skilled work in the maintenance, repair, construction, and installation of water systems including pipeline, valves, fire hydrants, pumps, meters, and service lines. Weekend coverage of facilities on a rotating basis and response to service calls and emergencies outside of normal working hours is required.
Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent and NH Driver’s License Class D (non-CDL) are required. NH Water Works Operators Licenses T1 and D1 are preferred. Willing to train unlicensed, motivated candidates who exhibit mechanical aptitude and are looking to start a career in water treatment.
College graduates with a BS degree in environmental science, biology, or related discipline, but who do not meet the experience or licensure requirements, are also encouraged to apply.
Salary range
$20.92 to $27.43 per hour dependent upon experience
