Engineer Technician

Requirements: Position is responsible for performing engineering work in the field or office pertaining to the Town's Public Works projects. Performs various, assigned engineering tasks pertaining to field surveys, project designs, construction and inspections. Provides technical assistance related to the design, construction and inspection of Public Works construction projects. Provides information to the public and other governing agencies. 

Must communicate effectively both in writing & verbally. Have the ability to interact  respectfully and tactfully with others. Be able to gain a working knowledge of applicable state, local and federal regulations, procedures & statutes. 

Position works in both a plant setting as well as outdoors. Physical demands include standing, sitting, stooping, and walking at various times, 

Qualifications: Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a high school diploma or associate’s degree with additional training in geographic information systems, computer drafting and surveying. 

Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the position usually interpreted to require a one (1) to three (3) years of experience in public works operations and engineering projects.
