Part-time Fire Inspector

The Stratham Volunteer Fire Department is accepting resumes for the position of Part-Time Fire Inspector.  The position is responsible for conducting fire prevention and life safety inspections in accordance with state and local fire code and town ordinances as well as the development and maintenance of a robust fire inspections program for the Department.  This is an administrative, non-operations position that reports directly to the Fire Chief.

Qualified applicants will hold State of NH Fire Inspector I certification (NH Fire Inspector 2 preferred), NH State Firefighter 2 and Nationally Registered EMR/EMT.  In addition, applicants should have at least one year of active inspection experience with a municipal fire department. Residency in the Stratham local area is preferred but not required.

This position will work directly with the Town Planning office, Building Inspectors office, and other town agencies as part of their assigned duties.  The successful candidate will possess solid computer skills, excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to work with the public to promote effective and safe fire prevention practices.

This is a non-exempt part-time position of sixteen hours per week.  Hours may vary to meet the needs of the town fire inspection requirements.  Pay range will be $25 - $28 per hour.
