Part-time Firefighter/EMT and Per diem Firefighter/EMT

The Stratham Volunteer Fire Department (SVFD) is accepting applications for the positions of part-time and per diem Firefighter/EMTs. These positions are responsible for firefighting, emergency medical services (EMS), rescue operations, hazardous material response and fire prevention activities for the town of Stratham. Applicants should possess the ability to operate under pressure and be ready to be part of a team working alongside SVFD Fire and EMS volunteers. 

Job Responsibilities:
• Respond to fire, medical and rescue emergencies
• Operate fire suppression equipment, including hoses, ladders and emergency vehicles
• Provide basic life support (BLS) care
• Maintain fire equipment, stations facilities and personal protective gear
• Participate in fire prevention inspections, public safety education and community outreach programs
• Attend and participate in department meetings, training drills and certification courses

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED 
• Current CPR certification 
• Current National Registry EMT certification (AEMT a plus)
• Current (or eligible for) NH EMS Provider license
• Firefighter 1 certification; Firefighter 2 certification preferred
• Valid NH driver’s license; CDL preferred
• Strong physical condition and the ability to perform strenuous tasks
• Prior experience in firefighting and emergency medical response is preferred
• Must pass background check

Employment Type:
• Part-time Firefighter/EMT: Up to three 10-hour shifts per week (from 07:00-17:00)
o Starting pay rate: $25 per hour

• Per diem Firefighter/EMT: Shifts scheduled on availability between 07:00 and 17:00
o Starting pay rate: $23 per hour
