Economic Mobility Program Specialist

JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Economic Development Director, this position will be responsible for developing and implementing programs to promote economic mobility, while also managing a revolving loan fund to provide financial assistance to new and growing businesses. The focus will be on building this program. This position requires strategic thinking to help the City develop economic empowerment and financial inclusion among/for its citizens. This is a full-time Unaffiliated position, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, and provides an excellent work life balance. The position is a grade 13, salary dependent upon experience.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, business administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in economic development, financial counseling, or related field
  • Familiarity with government regulations and compliance requirements related to lending and financial services
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and practices, including lending and credit analysis
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese
