Zoning Officer/Building Inspector 

The Town of Freedom seeks a qualified individual to perform the duties of both the Zoning Code Enforcement Officer and the Building Inspector. The position works under the direction of the Selectboard. Duties will include weekly office hours to be available to the public,  must be able to read and interpret complex Zoning Ordinances and State Statutes, process zoning applications, advising applicants and scheduling appointments; and perform site inspections to ensure compliance with all applicable local and State laws, complete inspection reports, prepare written correspondence, have the physical agility to negotiate building and construction job sites,  attend monthly Zoning Board of Adjustment monthly and Planning Board meetings. The Code Enforcement Officer will also serve as a liaison between the Town boards and other appropriate State and Federal agencies.  A valid driver’s license is required. This dual position is a part-time position with the possibility for full-time employment. Pay rate commensurate with experience.
