Domestic Violence Victims Advocate

JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will provide crisis intervention assistance to victims of domestic violence and other related crimes. Taking victim safety into consideration; assures appropriate prosecution of offenders; performs tasks related to the prosecution of persons charged with domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking crimes; work is performed in an office and courtroom environment. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, is part of the UFPO Collective Bargaining Unit, and provides an excellent work life balance. The position is grade 11, with an hourly rate not to exceed $27.2520.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services, Human Services, Criminal Justice or related field is preferred
  • A minimum of two years’ experience working with domestic violence victims in an advocacy field is preferred
  • Must possess a working knowledge of the judicial system, State and Federal laws and pertinent RSA’s
  • Ability to work effectively with the public
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
