Town of Swanzey seeks Human Resources Coordinator 

The Town of Swanzey (pop. 7,200) located in southwestern New Hampshire’s Monadnock Region seeks a qualified individual to serve as its Human Resources Coordinator (HR Generalist). Working under the general direction of the Town Administrator, the Human Resources Coordinator is a critical part of the Town’s management team and coordinates the Town’s personnel management operations for 39 full time employees and approximately 80 more part time and on-call employees. 

The Human Resources Coordinator serves as the point of contact for Town employees, answering and directing questions or concerns and addressing them with department heads or the Town Administrator. This position coordinates and processes the onboarding, orientation, evaluation, and separation of service for Town employees. The Human Resources Coordinator serves as the employee wellness coordinator, benefit administrator, participates on the Joint Loss Management (Safety) Committee, and works with supervisor coordinates training of employees. This position works with the Town Administrator to develop and revise employment and human resources related policies and procedures. 

The ideal candidate to join our team will have a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business management, public administration, or a related field plus five years’ experience in a human resource related field. Municipal experience preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of the following: NH Retirement System, workers compensation, short term disability, State and Federal employment laws, HealthTrust, and NH Primex. Ability to learn and use new software systems is critical. Must also have excellent interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills, be detail oriented and have experience composing professional office communications. 

The pay range for this full-time position is $31.50 to $39.00 per hour with starting pay dependent on qualifications.
