Utility Maintenance Supervisor

This position performs responsible supervisory work for the Public Works Department team and is responsible for the supervision and planning of daily operations of the utility crew, supervising the construction, maintenance, and repair of the town sewer collection and water distribution systems, coordinating with the highway, other town operation groups as well as private utilities and construction companies, to minimize the disruption to the systems, and respond to both water and sewer emergency situations. 

Assists the Superintendent in the training, assigning, directing, scheduling, and supervising of utility employees; and provides information to management to help evaluate job performance.

Oversees and participates in the maintenance of the town sewer collection system; schedules inspections to identify maintenance needs and assures conformance with the CMOM obligations set forth upon the town

Oversees and participates in the maintenance of the town water distribution system; plans and schedules work operations and inspections.

Supervises, and participates in the maintenance and repair of sewer lines and manholes.

Supervises, coordinates and participates in the cleaning, exercising, maintenance and repair of the distribution system and contributes information for the planning of future capital or outside service projects based on discovered needs in the system. 

Supervises, and responds to the construction of systems repairs, due to emergencies or planned construction, assists in the calculating, and ordering of materials for operations.
