Assists the City in plan development and implementation of a progressive recreation program for all groups, ages, and interest levels within the Community. Collaborates with the Department of Public Works to maintain the established park and playground system and the necessary physical facilities to make programs effective. This position will help determine the recreation needs of the community by researching and evaluating new program ideas; while overseeing the implementation and supervision of current programs and special events. Supervises department staff. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems. This position also oversees volunteers for programs and special events.
Drivers License required. CPR, First Aid and AED certification is required or must be able to obtain within 6 months of hire.
