Fire Inspector

The City of Franklin has an immediate opening for a highly motivated Fire Inspector within our Fire Prevention Division.  This Inspector reports directly to the Fire Prevention Captain. Qualified candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills.  This is a 40 hour per week position. The work schedule most accurately reflects normal business hours with occasional night, weekend or holiday hours in the event of an emergency. The inspector position is dynamic in nature. 

Responsibilities include, however are not limited to the following:

·                  Enforcement of Property Maintenance Codes

·                  Fire Inspections

·                  Fire Prevention and Education

·                  Fire Investigations

·                  Deputy Health Officer

·                  Building Construction Inspection

·                  Assist when needed in Fire Department operations

Minimum Desired Qualifications for applicants include:

·                  High School Diploma

·                  Building Construction knowledge

·                  Fire Inspection II (within a year of hire date)

·                  NH Firefighter II (within a year of hire date)

·                  Certified Fire Investigator (within 3 years of hire date)

·                  Nationally Registered/ Licensed State of NH Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)

·                  Must have a clean criminal history and valid driving record

·                  Pass a pre-employment physical

Additional consideration will be given to applicants with:

·                  College Level Degree
