Police Officer

The Town of Tuftonboro is currently accepting applications for a full-time Police Officer.  The position involves working varied hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays and some on-call at night from home. There are assigned take-home cruisers and residency requirements in the local area.   Competitive salary range with full Town benefits.

Candidates will be required to complete a rigorous hiring process, to include: physical agility test; oral board; polygraph exam; psychological exam; and medical/physical exam, as well as an extensive background check.  Some pre-employment tests may be waived for certified officers. All officers have  one-year probationary period. Uncertified applicants should review the NH Police Standards & Training Council’s website for more information on the requirements for certification as a police officer.  Uncertified officers will have to attend the NH Police Standards & Training Council full-time academy. The Town of Tuftonboro will provide funding for this training to a qualified candidate.  

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license and be a U.S. citizen.
