REGISTRATION OPEN: 2020-2021 Legislative Policy Conference
Primary tabs
NHMA's 2020-2021 Legislative Policy Conference will be held on Friday, October 2, beginning at 9:00 a.m as a live, in-person event. We previously stated that the conference would probably be held remotely because of coronavirus concerns. However, because of the logistical challenges of holding such a meeting remotely, and after considering comments from our members, the board of directors voted to hold the conference in person.
The conference will be held at:
Holiday Inn Concord Downtown
172 North Main Street, Concord
ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.See the instructions below.
The hotel is just off Exit 14 of I-93, at the intersection of Loudon Road/Centre Street and Main Street. Please try to arrive early, as parking is sometimes difficult, although there is an on-site parking lot. Social distancing and other appropriate preventive practices will be observed, with seating spaced at least six feet apart. All attendees are asked to wear face coverings at all times.
Registration - Voting Delegate
Each member municipality has one vote at the policy conference. Each governing body is asked to appoint a voting delegate to cast the municipality's vote on the legislative policy proposals. This year we are asking voting delegates to register using the link below.
Registration is required by Friday, September 25:REGISTRATION LINK
Floor Policy Proposal
Here is a link to the one floor policy proposal we have received. This supplements the policy recommendations prepared by the three legislative policy committees, which were sent to all municipalities on July 8. Delegates at the conference will vote on the policy recommendations and the floor policy proposal, along with NHMA's Legislative Principles. If you need copies of any of these documents, you can find them under Advocacy/Policy Setting Process on the NHMA website.
Governing Body Review
We urge the governing body of each municipality to discuss the full slate of policy recommendations, along with the floor proposal, and take a position on each proposal to give guidance to your voting delegate. Do not send your positions on the policy recommendations to NHMA; they are only for the guidance of your voting delegate, and each municipality can register its positions only by voting at the conference.
Thank you. We look forward to seeing you at the policy conference!
