Firefighter/AEMT or Firefighter/Paramedic

The City of Lebanon is seeking applicants for a temporary, full-time, Firefighter/AEMT or a Firefighter/Paramedic.  The duration of this position is anticipated to be up to a one-year period. The hourly wages are $22.74-$27.20 for a Firefighter/AEMT or $24.58-$29.07 for a Firefighter/Paramedic.  The Lebanon Fire Department schedule consists of rotating 24-hour shifts.   Wages are enhanced with a full-time flexible benefits package which includes health, dental, & life ins., short-term disability, vacation, sick and personal time, and enrollment into the New Hampshire Retirement System, and other optional employee benefits.    

Duties and responsibilities include: performing, maintaining and updating a wide range of technical skills relating to fire prevention, life safety education, suppression, rescue, emergency medical services, hazardous materials operation, and related activities. The Firefighter/AEMT performs these skills and exercises some supervision in the physically, emotionally and mentally demanding environments of emergency response and to a lesser degree in the day-to-day operation, collateral duties, maintenance and training of the fire service profession.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Candidates for this position should have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to pass the State of New Hampshire Fire Standards and Training Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) or hold a valid CPAT Certificate. Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical and comprehensive background investigation. Must pass an Acrophobia Test in accordance with NH Fire Standards and Training rules. Must possess or be able to acquire within three (3) months of date of hire, a valid driver’s license to operate motorized fire apparatuses. Must be able to complete the New Hampshire Certified Firefighters Level II within one (1) year from date of hire. Must be able to obtain National Registry of AEMT’s certification for Advanced AEMT within 1-year. National Registry AEMT-Paramedic preferred.
