Zoning Code Enforcement Officer/Health Officer
The Town of Tilton seeks a qualified individual to perform the duties of both the Zoning Code Enforcement and the Health Officer as outlined below.
General Summary
This position is responsible for a dual purpose of administering and enforcing Town Zoning ordinances and enforcing public health laws and regulations under RSA 128. Under the Statute the Health Officer is given broad authority to regulate the areas of public health and safety.
Essential Functions of Code Enforcement
Protects the integrity of the Zoning Ordinance.
Enforces Town Codes and Ordinances and applicable State regulations.
Prepares the necessary Notices of Violations.
Prepares recommendations for Zoning Board of Adjustment applications and determines the extent of review required.
Attends Zoning Board of Adjustment meetings as required.
Generates quarterly and annual reports for Zoning Code Enforcement.

Essential Functions of Health Officer
Conducts health inspections of all reported health related issues and responds to the health concerns, including but not limited to complaints of hoarding, vermin, nuisances, landlord-tenant disputes and other related health issues.
Ensures the safety and adequacy of subsurface, sanitary disposal systems.
Inspects facilities to enforce state and local health and safety standards for child day care and foster homes.

This dual position is a part-time 32 hour a week position. The successful applicant should have a minimum of three years of Health or Code Enforcement or any combination of education, training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to do the job.
