Recreation Maintenance Worker

The Town of Lancaster is currently seeking applications and resumes from qualified individuals to fill a position within Colonel Town Recreation as a Recreation Maintenance Worker. This position works under the supervision of the Recreation Director. This is full time position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Duties and responsibilities include preparing sports fields for practice and games, carrying out a year-round sports field maintenance program of sports fields, performing janitorial/custodial duties, installing and repairing park structures and equipment, and performing a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of the department. The following duties are normal for the job:
- Performs maintenance, repairs and cleaning of the facilities.
- Inspects facility on a daily basis, checking equipment and condition.
- Responsible for providing a safe work place for all working with or for the department.
- Tidiness in and around all facilities with regards to safety.
- General operation and maintenance of equipment and buildings associated with the department.
- Assist the public and other employees when needed.
- Perform other related duties as instructed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid NH motor vehicle operator license.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated and organized.
- Must be available on call in emergencies.
Physical effort is required when performing required job duties including bending, turning, and repetition. The employee will use a variety of hand tools and small machinery such as a tractor, edger, aerator, box blade, irrigation equipment, ball field lining equipment, pressure
washer, etc. The employee drives a vehicle to sites as needed. Working conditions are both indoors and outdoors, year-round in all types of weather conditions. Lifting requirements may apply to all job duties.
