Director of Planning & Development

Job Summary 

Provides land use and site planning assistance to developers, property owners, the public, and other Town staff. Reviews development plans and provides recommendations to the Planning Board. Assists developers and property owners through the plan review process. Provides transportation planning assistance and recommendations to various committees and commissions. Works on special projects.  Provides direct oversight of the Planning, Assessing, and Building Divisions within the Planning & Development Department. 

Education and Experience 

Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in planning, public administration or a related field and at least three years of progressively responsible related experience; or any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.  

Licenses and Certifications: 

·         Valid State Driver’s License 

·         AICP (desirable). 

Annual Salary Range:   $75,000 - $95,000 depending upon qualifications, with a generous and comprehensive benefits package. This is an Exempt position.
