The Town of Sanbornton, NH is seeking an experienced, full time Town Administrator. Sanbornton has a year round population of 3,000 that can swell to 6,000 in the summer months. Sanbornton is located in the “Lakes Region” of New Hampshire that offers many recreational opportunities.
The Town of Sanbornton has an operating budget of 5.2M with a three member Board of Selectmen and employs 23 full time and 42 part time employees.
The Town Administrator is the chief administrative officer for the Board of Selectmen and is responsible for the operations of the Town under their direction. The Town Administrator is a resource to the citizens of Sanbornton and a liaison to other departments. The ideal candidate should have a strong financial, management and planning background as well as significant knowledge of New Hampshire municipal law. The ideal candidate must also have the ability to establish positive working relationships with town officials, employees and citizens. The candidate of choice will be a proven team builder, possessing conflict resolution skills and the ability to collaborate and cultivate relationships.
Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration or related field with at least 5 years’ progressive responsible experience in municipal government & management. Graduate studies may be substituted for up to two years of executive experience; or equivalent combination of education & experience qualifying to serve in the capacity of Town Administrator. Compensation depends upon qualifications and experience.
