The Town of Pittsfield, N.H. (pop. 4,100) is seeking a community oriented, proactive law enforcement professional with a proven record of leadership and management to serve as its next Chief of Police.
Responsibilities include planning, directing and coordinating all aspects of department operations and administration, preparing the department's annual operating budget, providing leadership on law enforcement and public safety issues, and fostering collaborative relationships within the police department and the town at large. Although the position is primarily supervisory in nature, Pittsfield has a “working chief” who completes patrols and responds to calls on a regular basis.
Candidates should possess progressive management and leadership skills, unquestioned integrity, and a thorough knowledge of police administration and operations. Requirements include ten years of full time law enforcement experience with five years of supervisory experience, N.H. certification or able to obtain certification within one year and a BA/BS in criminal justice or related field.
